SABN 1. Fibre Arts Workshop March 16, 2012 this workshop will be held at the U of S in the fibre Lab in the Engineering Building. Registration will start at 10:00 and the session will start at 10:30. We will start the day with Cathy Merkley reviewing Fibre 101 and 201. After lunch we will do some dyeing and then break into groups where Needle felting, Thrum knitting and Australian Locker Hooking will be demonstrated. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to attend 2/3 groups. the fibre Arts Workshop will cost $20.00/person and non SABN members are welcome to attend. Please contact Lorraine Bray to indicate how many people will be attending. We will provide lunch and it will help if we have an idea of how many people will be attending.
2. The SABN Annual General Meeting is Saturday, March 17, 2012. It will be held at the fibre Lab in the Engineering Building at the U of S. We will have reports from the people who are travelling to china from March 1 to 8. We will also receive a report from Satya on the Fibre Research Project. Lunch will be provided so please let Lorraine Bray know if you will be attending the AGM. For people that will be travelling to Saskatoon for both the Fibre Arts Workshop and The SABN AGM a block of rooms has been reserved at the Park Town Hotel. The rooms will be held until mid February so please book early to receive the discounted rate.
3. The 2012 SABN Shearing and Sorting Workshop will be May 5 and 6. The workshop is being hosted by Just Choice Alpacas, Jack and Cathy Newby, by Dinsmore. The instructors are Trudy McCall and Cathy Merkley. The workshop costs $300.00 for SABN members and $350 for non members. A registration form is attached to this email and will also be on the SABN website. 4. Reminders:

SABN needs alpaca producers to drop off fibre to be cleaned and processed intio rovings at the fibre lab at the U of S. The cost is $15/pound.
