according to
·
Fine, Medium or Coarse.
This sort is relative to your farm only so the purpose of
sorting is to maximize the processing and quality of your
finished product. Some farms may be processing classed

records.

Short 1.5 – 4.0 inches or Long 3.5 –6inches.
·
Colour:
white WH, Beige BG, Fawn FN, Brown BR, Black BL, Rose Grey RG,
Silver Grey SG, Mixed MX.
·
PLEASE DO NOT send in heavily vegetated or stained fibre.
If you can feel a crunch when you squeeze a handful of raw fibre,
it will come back to you as vegetated rovings.
·
The University of Saskatchewan reserves the right to refuse
fibre that is contaminated by excessive vegetable matter, urine,
dung, rodents, caterpillars, moths or other contaminants.
-
WEIGH; LABEL EACH BAG
with a Bag I.D Tag. Ensure all relevant information is
circled or filled in. Calculations for deposits are made on
the summary form. Put the Bag I.D. Tag inside the bag and
with a marker put the ID # on the outside of the bag.
Please use clear bags but if you have to use coloured ones
please mark with marker on the outside of the bag the colour
it contains (or “mixed” if it is more than one colour).
-
RECORD each bag
on your Farm Summary Form.
-
COMPLETE the Farm Summary Form
with total weight, number of bags and amount of deposit.
Please note that the U of S will reweigh all fibre for an
official weight and that your finished product weight will
be less than your fibre weight. Washing and processing into
rovings is $15/lb. Other options will be priced and posted
as they become available.
-
MAKE CHEQUE
payable to SABN Inc. and attach cheque to the summary form.

small barn with the sign that says "Poultry Science”. Turn
left (West) go past the “Curling Rink” and turn Right
(North) at the “T”. You will see 3 containers on the right

arrange to have someone meet you there at a certain time).
Give the U of S (or SABN rep) your completed

Form and they will re-weigh your bags, receive your
deposit and sign the form to verify the delivery and receipt
of deposit. Ask for a copy for your records (if you bring 2
they will fill them both out and give you one back).
